BEST OF BOTSWANA

The Thuli Block, located on the eastern edge of Botswana, is a bush-lovers dream. The landscape is vast and arid, yet bustling with a variety of life forms ranging from impressive herds of elephant to sightings of porcupine and bat-eared foxes. Beautiful Baobab trees scatter the horizon and dried-out riverbeds make for the perfect ‘spotting’ location.
The bird life in the Thuli Block is also something to behold. If the Pel’s Fishing Owl is still missing from your Lifers list, I strongly recommend booking your trip ASAP. We were lucky enough to view a sighting of this rare owl during our stay at our first camp – Mohave Bush Camp. A core memory if there ever was one!
Now that introductions have been made… one might ask, “Well, where is the best place to stay?” I must preface, I am no expert, but I am incredibly honest. In the Thuli Block, one is spoilt for choice in terms of accommodation. In fact, the biggest issue is ensuring that one makes their booking earlier enough, before space runs out. With that being said, I won’t deny that I have a personal favourite camp and this is Mohave Bush Camp.
MOHAVE BUSH CAMP
This camp is wilderness and luxury combined in a simple, yet tasteful manner. We were lucky enough to have the whole camp to ourselves during our stay here, making for the perfect holiday to relax and enjoy the space with your own group of family or friends. The workers at Mohave are wonderful and hard-working, serving delicious meals three times a day and ensuring room cleanliness throughout our stay.
During our stay, we had game drives twice a day where we were lucky enough to see the following:

List of Sightings:
– Witness a leopard kill.
– Brown hyena.
– Pride of lions.
– Pel’s Fishing Owl.
– Herds of elephant.
